Australia Airsoft Laws
The Australian law has classified BB and air guns as a “Category A” weapon so an airsoft player must acquire a license to possess one. This makes it very difficult to acquire and airsoft gun because you must pass a background test and have a legit explanation for wanting to own one. A person who is caught with an unlicensed airsoft gun would be charged the same as a person possessing an actual firearm.
There are airsoft organizations in Australia that are trying to get airsoft redefined as a sport allowing people to own airsoft guns legally without a license.
